Burns Environmental Services Supports the 5K Walk/Hike for Mesothelioma Research

Sign for Pacific Meso Center 5K WalkWhen Victoria Adams an affiliate from the Pacific Meso Center at PHLBI asked Ernie Gutierrez if he’d like to get involved with the fundraising for Mesothelioma Research he didn’t hesitate. Ernie humbly offered to become a sponsor for the 5K Walk/Hike for Meso and even walked at the event himself.

Mesothelioma is a rare and aggressive cancer caused almost exclusively by exposure to asbestos. Due to the rarity of the disease, it receives very little financial support for research. The Pacific Heart, Lung, & Blood Institute in California sees the importance of the research and is moving forward with potentially groundbreaking stem cell meso research that could dramatically change the treatment of this disease.

The Walk/Hike raised over $95,000 for Mesothelioma Research and increased awareness about the fatal disease. For more information or to make a donation please visit the Pacific Meso Center webpage.
